Greenguard Air Quality certifies that the product complies with the standards defined by the Greenguard Indoor Air Quality programme, which imposes low emissions and minimum pollutant levels inside buildings. For long-lasting guarantee of these requisites, the GREENGUARD® certified products are controlled every year and their critical components undergo tests every four months. Greenguard Children & School certifies the suitability of building products and materials used in schools and day centres. It imposes even stricter emission criteria than the Air Quality ones, in line with the requisites and emission levels defined by the State of California for use in schools. NSF® certifies that products and plant for the food industry have undergone strict tests and evaluation by NSF International, an independent and totally impartial, non-profit organisation, committed to public health and safety and environmental protection. The NSF brand on a product confirms that it complies with the International standards for the food industry.


Moreover, thanks to the company’s commitment to sustainable building, SANTAMARGHERITA® has obtained the important nomination as Ordinary Partner in the Green Building Council (GBC) Italia, which has among its main aims that of promoting innovative building processes through LEED® (Leadership in energy and environmental design) certification, which confirms the environmental, social and economic sustainability of the buildings. Thanks to this important cooperation with GBC Italia, the company has drawn up its own “LEED® Protocol”, addressed to providing the more attentive professionals with a selection of parameters that are currently in use and which SANTAMARGHERITA® agglomerates can contribute to in obtaining the LEED® building system credits.
