GREEN GUARD

WHO IS GREENGUARD ENVIRONMENTAL INSTITUTE?

GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) governs and administers the GREENGUARD Product Certification Program. GEI is an indipendent, non-profit organization founded to create healthier indoor environments, which improve public health and quality of life. An Advisory Board, made up of indoor air quality, public health, and green design experts, reviews the GREENGUARD Certification program and assures its acceptance.

WHAT DOES GREENGUARD CERTIFIED MEAN?

The Mark means that the product has been tested for indoor pollutant emissions using stringent environmental chamber methods and found to meet the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Standards. GREENGUARD Certified Products are low emitting and contribute minimal levels of pollutants to indoor environments. To ensure continuous low emissions performance, GREENGUARD Certified Products are retested annually and critical components of these products undergo quarterly monitoring tests.

SANTA MARGHERITA'S PRODUCTS ARE BOTH GREENGUARD INDOOR AIR QUALITY AND GREENGUARD CHILDREN & SCHOOLSSM: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO?

GREENGUARD Product Certification covers building products and materials. Its testing requirements and emission levels reflect the building parameters and occupant sensitivities of commercial buildings. GREENGUARD Children & School focuses on building products and materials used in schools and daycare facilities. Recognizing that children are more sensitive to chemicals and that schools are different than commercial buildings, GEI developed this program to be the most stringent product emission criteria in the market. Building products and materials certified under the GREENGUARD Children & Schools program meet the testing requirements and emission limits defined by the State of California for use in schools.
