SANTAMARGHERITA…THE ITALIAN SURFACE COMPANY WINS @ METROCON11
“Pane, Amore, E…” wins top honor at Metrocon11
he Verona based company specializing in the production of marble and quartz surfaces wins the Pegasus Award for “Best Overall Exhibit” at METROCON11.
SANTAMARGHERITA beat out over 250 other exhibitors to win this honor. The design, by italian architect Giorgio Canale, included the use of palettes, slabs of SANTAMARGHERITA quartz, kitchen utensils and chalkboards displaying samples of stone colors. The result was an Italian Trattoria in the middle of Metrocon11. Shipping palettes were stacked to create towers, tables, seating areas, and the overall booth structure. The slabs of quartz were used as tabletops and seating. While the kitchen utensils were hung at the entrance of the booth to evoke a domestic mood with a sense of whimsy. Visitors to the SANTAMARGHERITA booth were treated to the sounds and food from Italy. As a “Thank you” for visiting the booth visitors were giving an authentic Italian meal, which included pasta and tiramisu. Italian standards like “Volare” played in the back to serve as the final touch on this Italian voyage. The Verona Marble Company in Dallas, Texas is the USA headquarters for SANTAMARGHERITA. Since 1985 the two companies have worked together to forge a great relationship and that union continues even stronger in 2011. The aim is to continue SANTAMARGHERITA’s growth in the US market.
